The increasing popularity of e-bikes presents a growing public health concern due to a rise in e-bike related injuries and fatalities, particularly among children and adolescents. While e-bike offer benefits like accessibility and reduced physical strain, their higher speeds and potential for severe injuries, coupled with inconsistent regulations, necessitate proactive safety measures. E-bike accidents can result in more severe injuries, including head trauma, internal injuries, and fractures, sometimes comparable to those seen in motor vehicle collisions, according to the American College of Surgeons.
